Jessica teaches science and engineering through the high school’s “Project Lead the Way” program.
She says here approach to her job is to provide students with the skills they need to go and find the solution to problems on their own. She believes that is a valuable skill for students even if they never end up becoming scientists or engineers.
Westminster High School students showed their communications skills and the importance of leading a drug free lifestyle as for the second year in a row they were honored for their work in competition with high schools from throughout the county in in the 2014 Adams County Youth Challenge.
District 50’s first ever STEM Fair is scheduled for Saturday morning, May 3 at Westminster High School. It’s a chance for the public to see the results of the student’s hands-on education in projects ranging from CO2 Car Competitions to 3D Printing to Truss Testing (strong bridge building).
Starting next week, you can attend Westminster High School’s Annual Plant Sale located at the greenhouse on the south side of Westy. It’s a great time to get started on spring planting or perhaps buy a Mother’s Day gift.
The sale will run from May 1 – 23 on Thursdays and Fridays from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm.
